Nitrates are undetectable

I am trying to find a starting point to dose the stump remover
I have 125g total water volume.
I tested. Dosed 10 mls. Waited 1 hour and tested. Then had to dose 10 more.

The next day I had to dose 20 mls again.
Day 3 only 10 mls.

Start with 10 mls and then test. Going over 2 ppm to 5 or 10 isn't a problem. Some tanks thrive there.

That's what I shoot for.

I am having to dose phosphates right now.

I'm dealing with an algae/cyano problem.
Don't take your eye off the ball and neglect good tank maintenance. Recovery is a b**ch. It's a lot easier to maintain.

Remember "nothing good ever happens fast in a saltwater aquarium."

I do water changes every week I cannot stand to see my tank looking bad.

Is that full strength or diluted?

If you follow twillard's recipe then it's full strength.
2 tbs in 2 cups of RODI water.

So far so good, I started dosing today. I started with a 10ml does it brought No3 up to, 25ppm. I dosed another 2ml it brought it to .50ppm. Therefore, I added another 2ml and just checked it. It is still .50ppm. I do not want to bring it up to fast. I started around 9 am last test was around 8pm., should I dose a little more at a time or keep going the way I am.

Thanks

Bill

Your tank/corals will use it up throughout the day. Remembering back, it was suggested to me to dose 2 times a day, morning and evening, when starting out. Your corals will use a lot at first. Then once you learn your tank and the initial start up absorption you can dose less.

Fish poop is great for keeping a steadier NO3 number. But you still may have to dose every now and then. Only you numbers won't fall as fast.

Picked up red sea nitrate pro kit and started dosing today. Started with .50ppm. Dosed 10ml and tested after an hour. Up to a little over 1ppm. I think I'll dose in the morning before work and when I get off so I can see consumption rate.

I'm just returning the favor. Others have done and are doing this for me.
For future threads pics are always appreciated and helpful. It helps confirm and catch other problems you may not even see.
