Nitrates Suddenly Bottoming out

So, I've been banging my head against the wall wondering what changed in my tank to cause my nitrates to suddenly go from 5-8ppm to <1ppm... Turns out, might just be Occom's Razor: The test was wrong?

I got my Mastertronic setup this morning, and the first test I ran was Nitrate. I ran two back to back tests, and Mastertronic reported 7.44ppm, and 7.84ppm. This is making me suspect that maybe my Hanna checker has just been malfunctioning for the past 2 weeks and/or the box of reagent was a bad batch?... Planning to order a nitrate reference fluid to run through the mastertronic to test it's accuracy. But I'm beginning to no longer trust the Hanna checker at this point.

Curious, are your corals and/or invertebrates showing any response to these numbers? Also if you want to triple check your testing equipment, any others on sending off to a lab your water for confirmation? There's a few retail options available including ATI.
