I currently have high nitrates. 75 Gallon mixed reef planned. Very little coral at the moment (handful of zoas) but certainly don't want to add until I get this in check. Only 9 fish and feed a small amount pellet in morning and a cube of brine or mysis in the evening, so I would assume I'm not adding a lot of nitrates daily through feeding. I do dose NoPox 6 ml a day and run GFO. I get good skim from reactor so I think my export seems ok. I just ordered some Zeo Mix but wanted to know if there miught be other suffestions/ Thnaks.

What are the exact numbers of nitrate and phosphate
My Nitrates are 80 and phosphates 0.0. GFO is doing its job. One thing I thought after I asked the question, I did have a leopard wrasse about 2/ 1/2. that I believe has died. I haven't seen him in week or two.

0 phosphate is bad for the tank and coral. Because you have almost no coral nothing is using your nitrates and your export is insufficient. Bring phosphate up to .1. Multiple small medium water changes will bring nitrates down. Weekly water changes are essential for new tanks. Stop the GFO and nopox.

What are the 9 fish?
That seems like a lot to me for a 75 unless they are tiny and is not helping.
As @Lavey29 has mentioned, probably best to get your number's in line a bit.
Don't know very much about your system reading your post but would like to help if I could.
Equipment? Sump?

Like it's been mentioned you need phosphate. Remove the gfo and get phosphate in check . Then start the carbon dosing to get nitrate down . What filtration do you have ??

When was your last water change and how large was it? The single best way to reduce nitrates is with a water change.
And as others have said, you need phosphates.
