Tank is about 8 weeks old and fish are doing great however nitrates have been high for the last two weeks. How (beside frequent water changes) can i gett them to go down?? We are doing frequent water changes already.

Exactly how high are the Nitrates? For a tank that's only 8 weeks old though this is nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe feed less, clean any sort of mechanical filter more often, stir up or vacuum your sand bed on occasion etc. Water changes alone will help, but you need to get to the root of the problem to solve it.

I am having the opposite problem, 0 nitrates my corals are really suffering and they wont rise no matter what I try.

Are they rising or are they high compared to what the tank was 4 weeks ago? If they are high what do you think is high?
Like stated above (water changes are the quickest) . Macro algae in the sump helps absorb some, but that take a while to grow. If they are rising, finding the cause is the first step.

Not to hijack, but I came across that issue before. Started dosing ME Coral Nitrates. And within a short time, boom, nitrates and color back to my sps!

Waterchanges, macro algae, carbon dosing. A lot of times there's nitrates left over from the cycle, depending on how it was done. All of these methods work pretty well, but it can take a little while to get them down and to stay low.

What size tank, what are your current readings. What exactly have you tried? Are you using RO/DI Water? Are you running a skimmer? What size is the skimmer?

Ok I should have stated my tank size is 30 gal. Last two weeks nitrates were at about 10 but today they tested about 5.5. I have a fish only tank so I’m just finding out that this is ok. Which is good because I have only lost 2 fish and that was due to my two damsels ganging up on them.
