Hi
My tank is 2months old. I ran into issues with cyano algae.

How long does beneficial bacteria take to get to levels where it consumes the phospates, nitrates, so i do not get cyano?

your issue is unrelated to cycling in every way.

nobody has a way to prevent that in new tanks. What I do is simply deep clean it out like a garden. others dose things, meds etc.

nitrifying bacteria does not consume nitrates... it produces them. Denitrifying bacteria consume nitrates. As far as how long it takes it drastically varies based off the tank, feeding habits, and what other export methods you have.

How many water changes have you performed in the 2 months its been set up? If it's nitrates and phosphates you are concerned about the quickest/easiest way to remove them is a good old water change or two. Use a siphon to vacuum out as much as you can.

I have done weekly 2gallon WC and 3-4 times already about 5g in the middle of weeks.

I have a funny read to show because its so volumous its an instant tl:dr

but aside from that

how many tanks started with cyano and then had none after this type of cleaning, scan just pics before and after:

no test kits are involved all pages. nor identification of the invasion, those are hesitations. none of that is hesitation.

because one option for being cyano and dinos and diatom free doesn't involve anything but deep cleaning. no meds. one option is to simply will the clean condition into being. by dinner time tonite then with update pics...

many dislike the option. they want the trial runs till July fingers crossed options of testing, dosing, adjusting. wanted to show what forty pages of pure resolve looks like.

another side benefit of reading a few pages of work is you'll never doubt nitrifying bacteria again that's for sure. nor purchase them other than to quick cycle new reefs. after a cycle completes, bacteria are never depleted the thread shows.

they're not even depleted by that buzzsawing you can see roll after roll above. the point of the thread is to leverage known bacterial resilience against deep cleaning against invasion mass, then collect the after pics.
