Nitrite High will quarantining with copper

I have a nitrite spike will using copper power an not using carbon but only a filter pad to pick up debris. Any ideas on how to power it without water change?

Holy proof read before you submit Batman!!!

I think this is what it says...

"In my Quarantine tank, I have a nitrite spike. I am only using Copper Power and no carbon...just a filter pad to pick up debris. Any ideas on how to lower it (nitrite) without a water change"?

Answer - Just do a water change. Be sure to measure your copper levels also. Using carbon will only strip the water clean so keep that out. Also, what are you using for your bioload?

I think you need to phrase your question better. I have no idea what you're asking.

+1..... Are you saying that while using Copper Power without Carbon and only floss in the filter you are experiencing a Nitrate spike ??? Is there a easy way to remove said Nitrate without doing water changes ???

IMHO/IME the best and easiest way to reduce Nitrate in a QT is with WC's and then replacing the copper medication afterwards. For future use you can place/store a Sponge and/or ceramic bio-media in your sump or back of AIO chamber then use in the QT when needed as this will significantly help with biological filtration. Just be sure to clean/sterilize and use a copper removal product on media before placing back into DT system or storing for future use. I also use weighted FW plastic plant decorations in my QT and place them in my sump for a week or three before use to gather beneficial bacteria.
