nitrite & nitrate testing

What are some of your opinions and the api test strips when looking at nitrite and nitrate. Those are the only things I use it for. Should I drop them and test it with something else or are they pretty accurate? Tank seems to be thriving either way.

API test strips aren't very accurate, and most people on R2R aren't very fond of API. Sailfert should have some, and I believe Hanna Instruments has a nitrite checker.

I haven't tested nitrites since my tank finished cycling. I use red sea pro for nitrate

There is really no reason I can think of to check nitrite once your cycle is done. I'd venture 99% of experienced reefers never check it and just check Nitrate.
