Hello,

For some reason my tank its nitrites are going up, is this something i should be worried about? It’s a 3 week old tank (live rock & sand) with only corals that will be fallow for 60 days because of a fish disease.

My tank had 1ppm nitrite a week ago & now it’s around 2ppm.

Is this something i should worry about in my fallow period?

Thanks!

Other than the baking soda for my alk & coral/fish food every couple days, no

Maybe too much fish food?

In any case, I would not worry about it yet. I’d just check it once a week. It’s not a concern at current levels, but if it went to tens of ppm, it might be.

Allright thank, i’ll try using less food & reef roids
I give a pinch every 2-3 days just to keep the bacteria & corals & inverts happy
