No 40g breeder tanks anywhere

I went to buy a tank today. NOBODY near me (5 places) had any 40 gallon breeder tanks. Is there some kind of shortage I don’t know about?

I almost knocked a stack of them over at the local petco this weekend lol.

They are on sale right now (50% off I think, I dont think the 40 qualifies for the $/gallon sale).

I think their website will update with local inventory too so you can check before driving over there.

I took one down yesterday. Its sitting in my yard, lol. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or not just yet. It's got some deep scratches on 2 panes of glass.

the last two 40 breeders I've bought from petco either had scratches or bad silicone jobs. Just a heads up for the OP. Make sure to inspect it before you roll out. I had my pick between probably half a dozen 40s, and there wasn’t a single one that didn’t have a noticeable flaw.

Pet smart had a 50 gallon with a terrible caulk job. It looked like someone did it with their foot.

Agreed. They're cheap for a reason.

FWIW, the one I took down did not have scratches when I bought it 3 years ago. Those were from a magnet cleaner that got sand trapped in the scrubber pad. The silicone job was pretty sloppy, but you dont really notice that when the tank is full of livestock, imo.
