I can’t believe I’m asking this, but...

My 10 gallon has been cycled for about 2 weeks, added first fish a week ago, fed frozen daily, only filtration is filter floss and matrix bio media.

I’ve ran lights on a full schedule from day one of cycling, and the tank is near a window, so plenty of light.

Despite this, I’ve seen exactly zero algae in the tank. Fish is doing great, water is clear, no signs of anything wrong in the tank. Nitrates are around 25.

Is it strange I’ve seen no algae growth? Obviously, I’m grateful for no algae issues thus far, but is it a sign of anything wrong too? I just want to be sure. I mean, even established tanks get some algae growth on glass at least.

I would expect some to show up any day now, perhaps preceded by some perfectly normal rusty colored diatoms on the sand.

oh you'll see... i've had my tank set up for a little over a month now and just about 2 weeks ago i started getting diatoms. now they're gone and im getting some green algae.

hahaha, well I'm just making sure it's not a "bad" sign. Definitely not wishing for it! Thanks y'all

And remember, it is not a bad sign when it does show. Just part of the the process.
Good reminder :) I'm prepared for it if/when it does. Thank you!
