First let me give you the run-down on how my 10g mantis shrimp tank was set up.
The tank has been up for about 6 weeks, I started with dry rock and sand but placed a bag of purigen (that has been in my 30g DT for nearly a year) into my hob filter. I used 5g of fresh new water, and 50% established water from my dt. My DT's nutrients are always undetectable (from good skimming, waterchanges, and a small refugium). Since I've added my livestock to the 10g, i of course have had a steady increase in nitrates which I then take care of via weekly water changes.
My question is; why am I not getting any algae growth? I have an Elive strip LED light which is more than capable of growing algaes.. I find it odd that I'm not seeing any form of algaes whatsoever (not that I'm complaining)...
