No Background/ Clear/Light Background

What’s up y’all? Im new the R2R. I have a Red Sea 525XL that im currently building. This might not be the best category to put this post under but ‍. Anyway, I have seen that a few people have removed the black background, pics attached (not mine, pulled off RedSea FB group) I want to do this but my wall behind it is a darker gray and there’s also a outlet visible vs the pics I’ve seen, they have possibly lighter walls(hard to tell with bright lights) and nothing behind it.

Im curious if anyone else has worked around this? Would a white or light gray background give the same effect as no background? Post pics if you guys have some light or no background on your tanks! I’ll post my tank currently, it’s half full with water currently because RODIs are slow lol.

I think it'll look fine either way, ie: with the black wrap on the back or the grey wall (couldn't see the outlet in the image). The reason many of us leave the black is to hide the array of cables behind the tank from sight.

On a side note: You have sand in your tank and you are filling it with RODI. You might want to do a large bucket/garbage can with rodi and salt(at a high salinity) to add to your tank. If you add salt to your tank to mix with your powerheads, it will blow your sand all over the place and you may not mix the salt completely.

Hard to get a good picture at night with the lights but I personally prefer clear

Yeah gonna mix it in really slow. My mixing station isn’t quite finished yet so I wasn’t able to mix it up outside the tank. Figured i wanted to start the cycle awhile
