technically you don't have to cycle for coral as they produce like 0 waste, but eventually if you want fish and other stuff, your going to have to cycle, and for this to happen, you would probably have to move the corals somewhere else so I would not and I have never but maybe I am wrong here

I added corals before fish in my new 200 build. They didn’t skip a beat after being transplanted from my old tank. It basically like adding a bunch of small pieces of live rock to a tank and will seed the dry rock so it pretty much cycles it for you.

I added corals to my new tank the day I added the water. I didn't watch the video, but when you get fish put in some bottled bacteria. It might not be the perfect mix for your tank when it matures, but it will be fine and the ideal bacterial makeup will sort itself out over time. Some/most of the bottled stuff actually says to add fish immediately so that the bacteria won't die of starvation.

I was literally just watching a BRS video on YouTube and seen your question posted in the video. Weird I'm seeing you here directly after that video lol

It doesn't matter if you have only coral or only fish, any saltwater tank WILL go through a cycle. Corals do not fair very well through a cycle either.

It is a very expensive lesson to learn if you ever put Corals in a brand new setup before the cycle.

I have only seen one bottled bacteria that allowed additions instantly and lost nothing.
