Is it possible to cycle a tank without a heater? I will just have a sand bed with water as it cycles. I will later add dry rock and a heater. Will this cause another cycle or prevent a cycle?

What temperature is the water going to be at, more or less?

Should be fine, I would think. That's not that cold.

When you add the dry rock, it will cause another cycle if the rock contains more dead organic matter than the cycled rock can handle. If it's perfectly clean, there won't be an additional cycle, but it will take some amount of time for the new rock to acquire bacteria and add to the capacity of the system.

60-90 F would work although not any other life forms would like that lol...bac are that forgiving. a bit slower at the colder end but still aeons established at multiplying literally anywhere theres water.

Well I'm just gonna be cycling my tank then adding heater and Pukani dry rock from BRS. No live stock will be added until proper cycle and temp
