Got this coral at a good price. Half the skeleton is dead but a good polyp population. If you can id this, much thanks.

I would say that got placed next to a torch or elegance and it absorbed some of it. It'll be pretty if it grows back like it should. You could band saw off the dead part.
 
Seems like gonipora to me too. But the polyps haven’t popped out yet. That’s why I’m not sure. Thanks for the fast reply.
 
Btw, the skeleton with the burned out polyps was buried in the sand at the LFS.
