No idea what this is?! Help Please!

My Sohal Tang Died last night with black splotches on him..

And now my Fox Face looks TERRIBLE!

These fish have been treated with CP so they are clear of Velvet, Brook, and Ich.

They are currently on their 8th Day of Triple Anti Biotics (Furan 2, Metro, and Kanaplex)

And second week on Prazi.

Thoughts?

Prazi only requires 2 doses 5-7 days apart and only really needs to be in the water for 24 hrs

Looks like an infection at first glance. With a closer look the black splotches almost look raised. Is that accurate to your eye?

Yes, they are swollen.

Correct, they had one dose, then 7 days later, I did another.

I'm thinking a dip in some acriflavin would be beneficial to give the foxface a bit more time for the antibiotics to do their thing. If it's been 10 days already and there hasn't been any improvement at all, then it is probably time to switch antibiotics. If you can get nitrofurocen green powder (which I can't spell) that would be worth a shot, or erythromycin among others.

I have sulfaplex also here. I can hit the store for whatever tomorrow.

I don't how they can be under multiple antibiotics and stuff have a bacterial infection.....

I'd +1 on trying the nitrofuracin green. It contains the sulpha and furan drugs, but also some other ingredients that might help like methylene blue.

At the very least you could try the sulphaplex alone, but my own experience with moving from the triple threat to sulphaplex was not promising

It just wasn't enough. If I could do it again, I'd order the n. green.

Antibiotics do not eliminate all bacteria, but rather help control populations until the fish's immune system recovers enough to suppress them itself. Also, different antibiotics can have less or more effect on different types of bacteria. Some bacterial infections can be nasty, fast-spreading, and difficult to treat. It's a guessing game to figure out what antibiotic will help the most for the bacteria you've got. That's why we usually suggest the trifecta first, because it covers a broad spectrum.

NFG powder is another broad spectrum, but with different ingredients.

I'm not sure it's as easy as just throwing everything together.... I have no idea what the individual dose is for each component when mixed together, and there are other ingredients as well which could change the behavior of the "known" ingredients. I'm not sure how they all work together to form the final product.

Usually, I would only recommend methylene blue as a bath- not dosed directly into the QT. You could try a bath, it might give the antibiotics an upper hand since it has antiseptic properties.
