Yes they work. If you want to get it sooner, you could wait for the lights to turn off and look for it at night with a flash light. Snatch em with pliers. Should be easy to find, it looks pretty big.Any good methods to catch it?

Maybe but the other is a fireworm and not reef safe. I would assume the OP is talking about the fireworm.It looks like there’s a Normal bristle worm to the left of the fire worm too.
Fireworms can be brazen IME. Hope the trap works for you. Common bristleworms are great to have but fireworms need to go.This one is bold...the lights were on and I had a flashlight on it to take the pic.
