I am having a huge outbreak of something maybe diatom or dinosaurs oit of nowhere. My tank has never gon through anything like this in the year it's been up.
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Phos .04
Alk 8.8
Nitrates 15
Salinity 1.025
Temp 76.6

Everything is covered in a thick layer and my new anemone is closed up completely as well as my acropora frag. Everything else looks okay. I did add some new cured rock a few days ago. Could my tank be going through a mini cycle? I only added about 20% more rock but it was fully cured. Any tips?

Didn’t you just add two “mangled” anemones? And start dosing? And bleach your rocks? And add more corals? Not surprised if there is some sort of off-balance period. I think I also saw a thread of yours in the last week about corals not doing well.

I would slow down, and try to take things slowly. Do a nice 25% water change but otherwise leave the tank alone.

The corals in "not doing well" are fine now it was just a mushroom and frogspawn that was being attacked by a emerald crab(discovered this).
The mangled nem I assume is dead it disappeared. I havent started dosing yet. I didnt bleach my rocks I bleached old rocks and added them to my system so I added cured rock in with my cycled rock.

I'm thinking theres an off balance from the new rock but I have no spikes in perams. And I did add a ton of new coral as well.
So should I just do that 25% change and see how it goes?
