i was moving stuff around in my tank yesterday and when I moved my mushroom rock and noticed this on the back. Iv has this rock for a while now and never noticed it before. Any idea what it is?

Looks like a majano anemone to me... whatever you do don’t try to dig it out or smash it. It just makes them mad enough to reproduce exponentially!
 
I hated mine they took over my tank very quickly. I found them to proliferate faster than my aiptasia.
 
What’s the best way to get rid of it safely?
I’m concidering just tossing the mushroom rock out. It’s keeps having things pop up on it.
 
Agreed with @DSC reef. If you want to keep the shrooms, try to take them off the rock and toss the rest, versus trying to remove the manjano.
 
Get rid of it, my last tank was overrun and ruined by them. They kill corals, clams , and anything else they touch. I'm sorry but anybody that likes these has no clue what they are doing.
