Just signed up. I have a 2 year old 20 gallon reef that I am about to add a ten gallon sump to. Just ordered a bunch of the gear and should have it set up within a month. I used the site for most of my equipment research, you all are very helpful.

Haha, have lots of pics. this tank stated off as a birthday present for my then 4 year old son. he wanted Nemo, so i got an aqeon 20 gal combo with flouresent light. Now "his tank" has been upgraded to reefbreeders Led's. Livestock wise: 2 clowns (which are little jerks), 2 red firefish gobi's, 1 melanarous wrasse, 1 mandarin.
Coral: not sure on specific types, but, 5 different zoa frags, 1 acan, 1 frog spawn, 1 pipe organ, 1 war corral favia, 1 other favia, 1 mushroom, 4 ricodea, 1 garf banzai(my favorite, paid $5, it has tripled in size since February), 3 miliarpora sticks.
I have 2 18" mangroves in a modified hang on back filter.

Looking forward to getting a sump set up so that i can get stuff out of my display tank. the only stuff that will be left in there are the overflow box and return line (and maybe a small powerhead, if i need it).

the mandarin is fat and happy. i have had him five months. i have a pretty good pod population and he will eat frozen brine shirmp sometimes. when i got my sump built he will have it even better hopefully. i am planning to put some algae in the sump and buy some more pods. any advice on what type of algae? i am planning to have a bare bottom in the sump with some live rock rubble.

i am going to have to work with my wife on some photo stuff. i cant figure out the white balance, but, here is a picture of my garf bonsai that i have had since feb. it was the best $5 i have spent on corals yet.

That's good your Mandarin is still fat and happy for your pods id just go with chateo and rubble, every once in a while you can shake some of your pods out of the chateo into the display
