No more Instant Ocean?

So I’ve tried to order an IO bucket twice now, and both times the seller has said the warehouse has run out of stock an Amazon. Is anybody else getting this issue, or am I just having a string of bad luck?

Been using IO for a while. Switch over to Fritz RPM, will not be switching back.

One of the lfs I frequent, that’s what they use, and sell, seem to always have it in stock

Go to chewy website and they have it. That’s where I got my previous IO salt from.

RPM mix cleaner, no more brown residue or a brown tint to the mix. RPM mix crystal clear. My PH has always been 8.0, now with RPM it stays at 8.2, other parameter are all within in range now, magnesium sits at 1350 instead of 1440.

I've had periods where the IO 160-gal buckets are not available and had to substitute the 200-gal box or smaller bags. Problem goes away the next month.

Cheaper than what? The RC buckets are $36 on Amazon, and $31 through subscribe and save. $36.99 on Chewy and you have to buy 2 to get free shipping. Boxes are $60, which is ridiculous.

Yep... it's very hard to get... I went back to Tropic Marin and after the first waterchange the corals extended their polyps in a gesture of gratitude.

I get reef crystals from petco. They always have 2 buckets and 2-3 bags of IO and RC. Meaning 2-3 bags and buckets each on the shelf.

And they price match with chewy. At least mine does. So i can just get my salt in 15 minutes i paid 34$ for my 160g bucket of rc a week or so ago

Over 100 in stock at BRS, my LFS has about 60 boxes at $45 each. I see this stuff everywhere and the fact it's in a lot of major public aquariums makes me think it's not going anywhere. Might be some Covid related temp shortage...

Hard to get?

Just checked, 8 of the 9 Petsmart's within 20 miles of me have it in stock. For $35 a barrel. All 10 of the Petcos within 20 miles have it in stock, although they're $41.

I don't remember if Petco matches Petsmart - one of them matches, but I don't think the other does.

Probably just bad timing. I work for a distributor, and we have stock of all sizes of both refular IO and reef crystals.

But on a side note, United pet group/Spectrum brands (who own Instant Ocean) have had major supply issues across multiple lines.
