No more jumping out! DIY

Like most people here, I have lost some nice fish due to them jumping out of my tank. I have a wooden canopy over my tank. When it is close, I am protected on three sides. There is an area across the back that is not protected. I have been considering putting some type of cover over the top of my tank to stop the jumping, but... I like having the top open!

Yeah, so... I just came up with something else instead. A net across the back covering the exposed area and a plexiglass cover for the overflow.

what do you think? Keeper?

On my rimmed tank I just sat eggcrate on the inside of the rim
Easy to remove. I eventually took it off and run an open top now.

Yeah, I did not want anything reducing my PAR... while the egg crate only messes with PAR a little, it does mess with it. : )
