So I recently moved over my all my coral from my smaller tank to a bigger tank. And everything is doing amazing and healthy as can be. Except for my acros... I also changed my lighting from led ... to ATI t-5. They don't look as happy and don't have extension like they use to. Plenty of flow and light. Should I change something? Put them higher? Or lower? Is no polyp extension a problem? I can't figure it out. My chalice, brain, zoas, plates, lepto, anemones, torches, bubbles, and everything else has no problem. Please and thank you for any suggestions. Here is a pic of the whole tank, and then a close up of the acros. They are positioned little above half way point in front of the overflow box. On or 2 frags are slightly loosing color, but nothing major... what do I do ?

Give the acros some time to get settle with the new tank and lighting setup. There does seem to be any bleaching going on. Your acros once they grow in that cluster will need to be pruned to keep them from growing into each other. Feeding will also help trigger the polyps to come out to feed. Good luck with the new tank. Looks great!

Have you lost any pieces lately? When I start loosing pieces or just one frag looks bad I check for bugs. This just happened to me and I think it's AEFW! Hope you don't have that but it doesn't look it!

Yes it is a coral beauty. And that's what I figured. I built my own trap lol just haven't got around to using it. I already planned on taking her out. Just don't know how. Tried the net method with food inside. But no luck. So now a trap

The change in lighting and the move itself will do that. It will take time for your corals to acclimate to the changes in the environment which could take a few weeks to months depending on what type of coral. If the water parameters are right then I would just let them settle in.

So about 2-3 weeks ago I finally drained my whole tank and caught the culprit coral beauty! Now all my acros are back to full extension :) thank you for the solution!

I've had the same issue! Is it my coral beauty? I don't want to accept it.... Already tried to catch it multiple times :(.

Yep, that was me... tried multiple times multiple different ways and finally got tired of it and just drained the tank. Now it's peaceful lol :)

The CB will nip on on your SPS but it won't kill them.
In a way it's kind of a good thing as it promotes growth on the acros's.
You should have PE during the lights off period if not I would look also into a parameters problem.
High Magnesium will stop the polyps from coming out, change in light for a few weeks and to much flow.
Keep a eye on the CB and check during the lights off for PE, if you have PE feed corals only during the night if you would or turn skimmer off for 4 hours during the night.

I didn't even have extention at night when the cb was around. And now that he is gone, extension all the time :):):) he loved to nip, and yes, it didn't kill the coral. Just gave them a little more will power to grow lol

Glad it worked out.
I have 2 angels (Bandit and a Flame) soon to be three in a few weeks when the Interruptus will come out of QT but not having a problem. When frags become colonies than even during the day the corals have PE.
Although I have a clam they never picked at that one too.
Here's a good write up about this very issue, https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/t...sh-with-beautiful-corals.165382/#post-2983307

That's awesome! Got lucky with the angels :) and hope the 3rd joins the no nipping party too lol

There are many awesome tanks with angels and even some butterfly's that are successful, you just have to be caution and introduce corals to the fish will in QT can save you a lot of headaches.
