No nitrate and phosphate

Do you run siporax and ceramic media in your sump ? If low flow then anaerobic bacteria will consume nitrates.

Do you feed more than once a day ? Do you wash your frozen food ? When I suffer low phosphate I don't wash , unwashed frozen mysis shrimp are full of phosphate, multiple feeds can help with nitrates.

Is your aquarium heavily stocked with SPS? SPS can consume nutrients alot faster than most , many hobbyist actually dose nitrates and Phosphates.

These are just some of my thoughts
I have ceramic block a huge one in my sump and plenty rock as well in the display. I think the flow was too much so I actually just turned it down because it seemed to be hurting my soft corals but the flow into the sump and back into the tank is still high. I never wash my frozen food. My tank is mixed and stalked with barley frags so I don’t think enough to add a dent. I think my biggest issue is the fact I’m feeding the corals and most of that is triggering algae growth

Have you thought about a 2 -3 day blackout ? This way you should kill a majority of the alge , then you can focus on brining nitrates and Phosphates up.

I have never done a black out but iv read corals can manage for 3days before they start having issues.

Do you know what alge you have ?

Im thinking a blackout may not be the best call being that I think I can remove most of with my hand
