Dino -yes.
Remedy as I just fought and won the battle:
Low light or even blackout for 4 days. Add 10ml of hydrogen peroxide to each 10 gallons. Additionally add or raise Mag to 1300-1350. Blow off each day with turkey baster and either direct loose stuff to overflow OR net it. Suddenly you will realize it has vanished.
Phos is part of culprit BUT > > >> DO NOT add PO4 remover as it actually will feed the dino. Be patient- and you will see results !!

Do you know what they were beforehand? My battle with dino started when my nitrates bottomed out to zero. I transferred everything in my 40B to a 125g system and added cheato for the first time. Nitrate hit zero and boom, DINOS.

On my limited understanding this will actually make things worse. You want to bring the no3 and the po4 up to get rid of the dinos.

Chemipure elite has gfo and resins that will reduce phosphate and nitrate. Not really what you want to do right now.

My phosphates are still at .25 and was growing GHA till a couple days ago.
But trates do look around 0.

Missed this my notifications not working, you will want to bring your nitrates to around 3 to rebalance the tank. Your nitrate reading should never be lower than your po4. You could also aim for 1 nitrates and 0.03 po4 if you more comfortable with lower po4. Once you can accomplish that it should go in a few weeks.
