I recently decided to give a hanna checker a try. I got the ALK and Phoshate kits. I've tested twice and the reading Im getting is zero. Now, I had been fishless for 8 weeks and just recently finished putting the fish back. I was feeding the inverts/corals a few times a week. Is it really possible to have no phosphates because of this or user error?

Certainly can be an error, certainly not. I never once got a reading on my hannah phosphate egg. But box and ulr read around .02. Ive found that feeding heavy on flake/pellet is what keeps my po4 up a tad bit. Id continue feeding =)

Which model of Hanna are you using. ULR Hanna is what you should be using for reef tank and Yes, I have measured a few times 0 on ULR as well but most of the time, it ranges from 5 to 10 reading on ULR Hanna. 10 reading is equivalent to 0.03 ppm phosphate.
