No power help me in my journey

Hey everyone massive storm came through southern Ontario my end at 2pm power been out ever. Since. We have a genny running now and doing the main fridge first. The 3 tanks are about 73f no water movement. When the fridge is done it’s thang I’m guessing it’s a good idea to hook each aquarium up and warm them back up and gets some flow before I go to bed?

Yes I would take the fridge off that will keep cool for a while as long as you keep the doors closed

For sure flow, absolutely or your fish will start to show weakness at about 6 hours and death would not be far off.
The oxygen available starts to degrade when flow stops, they suffocate.

The temp, not as concerned, but if you can keep it stable, better.

Our outages are generally not to long, should be up soon.

You must be either downtown or by the lake.

It was very localized.....we are up in Brampton...

So I connected the genny to frag tank. Warming it up and circulating. After that I will do the display and after that bed time. Going to be a long night

Fridge is good for at least next 8-10 hours as long as you dont keep oening and closing the door.
Also place a blankets over and around tank to help retain temperature

One chromis from the qt tank has bit the dust. I have flow going now in three tanks and heat in the frag tank. My eheim has stopped working in the display

I guess plugging in a tank to a 4500 watt generator isn’t always going to work

Best of luck to you, I am in Michigan and without power running the generator too. Power company told us if we didn't have an estimate yet not expect one until tomorrow and that it may take more then 48 hours to restore. Looks like all night generator here.

Crazy I’ve seen two bristle worms tonight. One I got out. I don’t want them. Second saw my light and booked it. They must be cold and coming out

You can heat water on the stove if you have gas/propane to ease some of the stress

Heck no I’m in rural Ontario by Lake Erie in the tobacco belt we loose power a lot. It’s going to be until tomorrow afternoon until we get power

Hope it's going well for you. Still no power here after 12 hours. Generator has been running all night, luckly I live far enough from people it doesn't annoy them.

Surprised your 4000+ watt isn't cutting it. I have 4 tanks going on a 3250. Maybe it's them fridges?

The 4000W generator should be giving you about 16.6amps, the fridge is probably 7A.

Id let the food go, it's way cheaper then the fish or corals to be replaced. Heck just put it in a cooler outside its cold enough.

Well guys we made it!!! Power back on noon it was out for almost 24 hours. Tanks got down to 68 degrees! Fish moving slowly all looks great. The tanks are slowly warming. Back up.

One thing funny to watch is all the fish are hanging out by the heater. Poor guys.

Might want to set your heater to halfway to regular setpoint so it doesn't jump up too drastically in the first 12 hours
