Have a diffuser coming for the prime; want to avoid light in the other chambers and I like the light at this height. Also have a kalk stirrer coming; going to hook it up for ATO delivery. Oh boy. Something I've been thinking about for a long time now; going to try it. Also working on the gha up top; will pull a bunch out later today with my cyclone brush method

The Noo Psychs are great so far. I've been slowly ramping up each day. Everything is loving the extra light it seems. Even the fish seem more energetic. I'm planning on going up a bit more if they'll tolerate it, but not quickly. I'll leave it where it is for now.

New plan is to re-home the nems to the sump display fuge. Gonna grab some more rock at my lfs tomorrow (hopefully) and let it soak for at least a week (if I can be patient lol). Then I want to build a small wall with caves for the anenome down there, keeping in mind that my watchman will want to be away from them (the gsp is growing so fast, they may outpace my plan and I'll have to peel some back; comes off the glass down there pretty easy it seems). So it'll be nems in the sump which won't put any new frags I'm planning for at risk of getting stung. The display below gives a top down view which is pretty nice; kinda wish I had one of those gorgeous high end ones but I got what I got

And to move the nems I'm going to try the anenome cannon - got some new sponges already

Scrapped the offset 'refugium' light schedule and set it to the same hours as the DT. So now at night only light energy will be in the MAR; will see what affect this has but I also just like the idea of seeing the area below during the day as I have a watchman and a banggai down there as well as a huge mat of gsp that (at least to me) is dazzling

Oh yeah! I can see why you would want it lit during normal hours, that display fuge is awesome looking!

Added this little vornado to cool the sump. The house was 78 and fine the other day but I watched the tank temp climb and climb. I had to turn the AC on. I'm wondering if this does anything; evaporative cooling. I put it on an energy bar to come on at 80 until it's 78 or below. Pretty slick looking too imo. I've got some wire cleanup to do but honestly it all makes sense to me; I can follow each line to it's equipment and pull it for maintenance if I have to pretty easily... Someday...

Big day for my little reef.

Order of snails came in from reefcleaners. Letting them acclimate and climb out as they see fit. Lots of movement already.

TSA got me last weekend with their sale. I need corals anyway; something to fill the void/compete against the gha. First online coral order (snail order as well for that matter). I couldn't be more impressed how they came packed. Letting them acclimate before I put them on the frag rack.

My ph has been spot on since the kw reactor albeit my alk is on the high side. I'm not one to add this many corals at once but ive been contemplating the consequences for a while and think i actually need the coral for more balance uptake. Idk if that makes sense but it does in my mind ; otherwise I'm just growin algae; rather grow coral . I have things on hand to deal with swings in any direction

Added a splitter and have the KW route on the ATO off for now. I can switch between fresh rodi and kw rodi with the valves. Not bad. I may look into another doser to dose the KW in a more controlled manner though; move back to ATO when demand calls for it....ain't there yet. I can however turn it on for now for a few top offs if needed.

One of the urchins got into the snail cage! Ahh! Pure slow motion chaos! Lol. Stuck snails all over it. Had to use dental pick to get the tiny ceriths. Pia. Put him in the sump for now.

Having the KW via ATO 24/7 is too much for my needs right now, so what I've been doing is watching my ph. When it starts to go up after lights on (I happen to be working from home this week) I turn the KW reactor off and switch to RODI. In the evening, I do the opposite. When it starts going down, I switch to KW. No flat lines with PH but bumped up into better ranges; just started this a few days ago. Going to check alk soon; has been in the 11's when I've checked; po4 and no3 are up so I'm not worried....yet

This morning I noticed my ATO was not pushing KW so i cleaned it and it dumped a bunch in. Not worried though as it brought ph up to the same level it was the previous day at the same time. Noticing increased growth; will try to get some compare pics up later.

I don't want to jynx it but (knocking on wood now) my CUC went to town last night, especially my biggest turbo and I think I may be turning the corner on algae. Some nice pink and purple coralline underneath. Smoked my first SPS . Sorry mister yoda. RTN in less than a day. Cut it off and tried dipping it but it was gone. There's a nub left with some skin still on it so...who knows. The rest of the frags are looking ok and corals too. I was trying too many things at once. KW, high alk, fluconasole. I should know better. Lesson learned. I'm lucky it was just the one. Not running KW or anything now really, just 1 gal wc a day, keeping alk stable with sodium bicarb. Trying to get back to stability.

Added a Trident. Not sure what to make of it. Just finished my first bottle of A and Ca and Mg are all over the place. Have a ticket in with Neptune so I'll see what they have to say. I have a NP coming tomorrow but don't have the most faith in it. I'm not looking for dead on accuracy but the trends should make sense and they don't...to me at least. I have a neck issue and testing by drop by hand has become a task so I'm looking at this as a help while I deal with this issue. The alk test seems to be right where I'd expect it +/- a few points from the Hannah

Mg is going up! Yet I have growing coralline and montipora

I even ordered the needle guides and installed them. I didn't calibrate after that, maybe I should but even being off (which calibration would address) it would trend in a normal direction I'd imagine... Unless I don't understand how things work still lol
