No QT tank what do I do?

By what I can figure I have an outbreak of Velvet. I do not have a Hospital/QT tank.

Do I wait for fish to survive/die?

What do I do post velvet to make sure it’s gone?

I may have a tank for sale depending on answers.

Not treating will end in dead fish. Tank must go fallow for 30 days.

I believe tank will need to be fallow for 6 weeks if velvet is the culprit.

If you can pick up a hospital tank tomorrow go for it.

Small power head
Ammonia alert badge
Bottle of bacteria in bottle to jump start it.

If velvet is what is killing your fish, not treating them in a qt tank will result in most of not all of your fish succumbing to the parasite, and any future additions will most likely parish from velvet as well

What size tank? A qt does not need to be elaborate and can be put away when not in use. What fish do you have now?

Unfortunately there is no in tank treatment for velvet. This requires treatment and a fallow period to let it die off in the tank. If you have any fish survive without treatment, which is unlikely, the remaining fish would allow velvet to stay in the display. Any fish you tried to add subsequently would be exposed. Sorry there's not an easier answer.

No they can be left in during the fallow period.

Set up a 40 gallon long QT. Hang on back filtration with heater and a power head.
Got it setup today fully. Tomorrow I go fishing in the display tank for all the fish. But first I want to get y’alls opinion/tips.

LFS helping out tremendously. But torn on what to do for Leopard Wrasse and Diamond Goby for sand? Do I put sand in QT? Or a Tupperware bowl with sand in it and hope for the best?

Also fish are looking 100x better. They hardly have little white spots on them at all. Hippo and flame angel have little white dust looking spots on their fins and that’s it. All livestock is eating well and seems happy. Kinda scared to even take them out and put in QT. What is everyone’s professional opinion? Thanks

I QT my leopards and gobies without sand without issue. Increase copper slowly over 48 hours or so. (Several tiny doses per day).

For 2months? While tank cycles through Ich/velvet which ever it is

Yes. I only treat with copper at gully therapeutic levels for 30 days then remove copper and observe the remainder.
