does anyone know any invertebrates that can thrive without substrate

Hermits, shrimp, most snails (nassarius like to bury themselves). I don't think there are a lot of inverts that wouldn't "thrive" with a bare bottom. Assuming you'll have live rock for them to graze on.

yes i have a live rock i really live starfish and tube worms though can i have them aswell

brittle star and chocolate chip starfish
Brittle starfish will still thrive in a bare bottom.
They come in many beautiful colors besides the basic. (Avoid the green ones. They grow to 2.5' and eat small fish.)
If you get too many (we have 8 in a 75 gallon tank) you will need to let some food fall to the bottom.
Cleaner shrimp, blood red fire shrimp, pom pom crabs, squat lobster, porcelain crabs.
Reef lobster eats smaller fish and inverts.
Very cool, just their own additional requirements/restrictions on other stuff you can keep with them.
Build them a cave facing the front of the tank where you can see them because they will seldom leave it during the day.

Feather dusters will be fine.
The huge ones and tiny white ones.
Haven't kept the tiny red ones for more than a year.
Coco worms will be ok without sand but are more difficult to keep alive long term.
