Or their Fluval Marine 3.0 at 40% so they can see their two clownfish... (guilty, lol)The ugly phase seems to only happen when people decide to run radions at 100% in week 3 so they can see their two clownfish
Meh. Every pest out there can be managed. No replacement for mature live rock.Ok fingers crossed, lol! So the mushrooms I was going to get are on a live rock from an established tank... if I dip that will it kill off the good bacteria? I just don't knkw what pests could possibly be hiding on the coral and don't want them in my tank...
If you want to keep everything alive just pour it into a container and turkey blast the rock and see if anything comes out. Mushroom corals are usually attached to small frag rocks. Not much way a pest established in there. Plus if your coral vendor had a lot of pests in his coral tanks he wouldn't be in business very long. Other types of corals are more prone to some pests but that's why God made wrasses.Ok fingers crossed, lol! I'm sure that's true. I'm just a control freak, lol. Probably need to let go a little bit as things are going to happen I'm sure.Meh. Every pest out there can be managed. No replacement for mature live rock.
Ok I'll try the turkey baster. I will say, I have found so many tank uses for those! It's a friend of a friend who posted the mushrooms on our local reef facebook group and they're gorgeous so I jumped on it! So private party, not a vendor. She said it's on a rock and about the size of a large fist. Here's a pic. I figured $30 she asked is fair, and I don't have to have it shipped.
Well if you trust the source you should be fine. It's a beautiful colony. Have to make sure your tank is stable and ready for it. Colonies are sometimes Hardee to adapt to new tanks because they have been in their other environment so long.Ok I'll try the turkey baster. I will say, I have found so many tank uses for those! What should I look for as signs that a coral isn't happy? Would mushrooms do anything in particular? I hope it goes well..Well if you trust the source you should be fine. It's a beautiful colony. I have 4 in my tank. They close up tight at night and open huge in They daytime. They are sort of like a rock flower anemone to me. Mine moved around slightly till they found their preferred spot. I have them in low light and flow on the side rocks of the tank. What should I look for as signs that a coral isn't happy? Would mushrooms do anything in particular? I hope it goes well..
Cool, that's where I was thinking of putting them, at the sides where flow and light are lower.I have 4 in my tank. They close up tight at night and open huge in They daytime. Agreed but if the tank has matured a few months with biodiversity then the uglies are much more manageable. I had minimal diatoms, splash here and there of cyano on the sand and a minimal to moderate GHA for my uglies the fist 11 months. No lights will just delay the ugly phase in my opinion, not eliminate it.
I tried to show you a pic but the website keeps blocking pics now for unknown reasons.Cool, that's where I was thinking of putting them, at the sides where flow and light are lower.![]()

Safe to dip them. It wont kill bacteria inside the rock.Ok fingers crossed, lol! Trust me, you will end up with pests no matter how much you dip and wash and scrub.
It's just a part of the hobby.

That's weird, wonder what's up with the site. I'll definitely get the Probio - I have used PNS substrate sauce starting up my tank because I was really impressed with the company.I tried to show you a pic but the website keeps blocking pics now for unknown reasons.
Check out PNS probio. It's all natural bacteria supplement. I've been dosing 1.5 months and my tank has never looked better with clean sand and filter socks stays clean over a week.
