No water change

It works for some but most people who have tried it have seen problems down the line.
I remember reading from a reefer overseas (Maybe New Zealand or Australia) who contended that if you can control your nutrients via other means, and add trace elements as they get depleted then water changes shouldn't be necessary. Although that sounds very logical, in practice you would need to test for all the stuff you want to limit and replenish and then actually control and replenish which sounds a bit more complicated than changing water. I have thought about it and decided to go to a minimally-comfortable water change level (I do 10% a month currently), also control nutrients closely (currently testing for phosphates every 2 days to understand my build up) and adding minimal amounts of trace (using 10ml of SeaChem Reef Trace once a month)
Although my SPS live and grow, my colors are not the best...

I use the Triton method and testing.
The above is correct.
The Elementz replenish trace elements
No water changes needed

Not sure if you are familiar with Thomas Brown on youtube but I've seen one of his interview videos from FL where he interviews this restaurant cuban( i think) owner where he had a system using some sort of chemical reactor that allowed him to go W/C'less. Please let me know if any of you are familiar with that video, thanks!

I'm giving the no water change approach a try myself. I'm not using the Triton method, but similar concept. I will do a periodic water test with them though because I'd like to see what levels all those trace elements are at along the way. I'm just starting the system up now, so can't tell you much more.
