Hello All,
I was told that I should have my no3 between 16-32 for my sps not sure if they meant ppm? Also my current n03 is 0.05 mg/l how do I covert this to get to the 16-32?

Those units are close enough to treat as the same, and many folks (myself included) mistakenly use them interchangeably.

Strictly speaking 1 ppm = 1 mg/kg

But in 35 ppt seawater, 1 L weighs about 1.023 kg at 25 deg C

300 ppm = 300 mg/kg = 300 mg/kg / 1.023 kg/l = 293 mg/L

So 16-32 was referencing ppm correct?
Not sure. 16-32ppm is a weird recommended target.

The “standard” recommendation is 2-10ppm, but many folks go higher without issues.

Yes I imagine the suggestion was based off ppm.

Depending on who you talk to you will get various answers though. Personally I try my best to get it up to 10+. Some people run much lower or significantly higher without issue.
