Hello!
I have a 150 gallon ML tank and the drains are making akot of noise. The drains i am using is the stock drain pipes its comes with. I have a idea please tell me if this would work. If i put a ball/gate valve under the tank and control the flow of the drain would that help?
The drains are 1 inch pvc pipes

This is the drain it comes with

I found with the Durso if you adapt the drain from 1" to 1 1/2 with a 3 way tee I use a 45 degree and about 3" on the top of the tee with a cap, I gives the pipe some air before it goes into the sump. That's the only way mine would work and mine is almost silent it's in my bedroom.

Hello Sean , Is is glued in place? Maybe you could raise or lower it.
I assume there is an air a hole in the cap As pictured (1) You could make it a little bigger. Either one might help.
Ok so in the second pic, Is there a hole drilled in that cap? You could stick a length of air tubing down the drain & see if it quits making noise for You.
So has this just started & was fine before? Maybe the air hole has some crud / salt build up or such . Try cleaning that out.
One last thing. If You install a gate valve put it above the return pump & slow that down a bit. This isn't ideal but may help .
Good luck !

I would like to try this setup out. Could you detail the pipe size you are using in this picture. Is it 1 inch all the way to the wye fitting? What size are the Unions used? How far into the water is the last pipe?
Thanks for the help!

So ended up putting a ball valve on the drain the dump and the overflow is almost completely quiet.
