I am running a 180 gallon marineland dual overflow tank. One of the drains is fairly quiet and barely noticeable. The other one is loud and sometimes it will gurgle. With the airline in the elbow it is somewhat quieter but then all I hear is the sucking of air sound.

Any tips or suggestions? Its basially a durso style overflow in each one. I have it come from 1" out of the bulkhead and upsize to 1 1/4" plumbing up to the elbows. Thoughts? Suggestions? Need more info please ask.

Wife is about to kill me with the noise! :frusty::beat_shot:

Mine is silent. I Put some mesh used for skimmer mod inside the overflow box where the water falls. Try if it helps.

Do you have an small hole drilled in the top of your end cap? I don't have a durso, but have a small hole similar to what is suggested in the link below and that works great. It started to get plugged a few weeks ago and right away I noticed it getting more noisy. The noise went away again once I cleaned it out the hole.

Anyone familiar with the Hoffer Gurlgle Buster? Thinking of trying this.

Yep its drilled on the elbow. I am not sure why this is doing it. Never had a problem like this before. My drain lines are of different lengths going to the basement. Could this be an issue? I don't see why it would be but thought I would throw that out there. The one that is noisy is the shortest run. I have tried all the things I am use to doing to quiet it down and nothing is working.

Its not the actual overflow box. Its the air being sucked into the vent on the drain pipe that is making the noise.
