Noisy Overflow

Try inserting nylon like spaghetti filament into overflow which will break up the running water and the noise.

Welcome to Reef2Reef! I'm sure that some Red Sea tank owners will chime in soon!

Welcome to R2R!!! I don't use a RS tank and overflow, so I am not much help. If its anything like mine, then the return flow vs the drain flow will need to be matched for it to quite down. I am only going by my return setup and experience.

I have the dreaded Red Sea gate valve…sigh. Need I say more.
Welcome!

Glad you joined. Not familiar with those but sounds like its giving you <fill in blank>;Facepalm

Welcome! We always used a short piece of airline tubing down the tube. Same as first post, it breaks up the water flow and quiets the gurgle.

Adjust the water level in the chamber were the downpipe is, so that the water level is at the very top of the emergency overflow pipe, or just slightly running down it. It should then be silent

The RS valve is just an over complicated gate valve, they really should take it out, especially in the Max S systems, were you have to leave a 6 inch gap at the back of the tank in case you need to remove it.

Turn it clockwise in very small increments wait a few minutes in between adjustments until waters level in the over flow reaches the emergency down tube as others have said. Should be silent. The key is small adjustments and slowly to let it catch up. Both of mine work wonderfully.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!
