I've between playing around with this SWC 160 skimmer for a few months and I can't seem to make it stop gurgling. From my observations, adjusting the air control seems to quiet the skimmer a little, but not much. I'm running the skimmer in 4" of water, as opposed to the 8-10" recommended, because it overflows if I have it any lower. Don't know if that makes a difference. I've cleaned the pump and unclogged the air intake. I have a bubble blaster 2000 I can tiaras on there, but it's only rated for 300gph, which is half of what the sicce is rated for.

What can I do to quiet this thing down? This is in the living room which is why the noise is an issue.

I've contemplated replacing it. I've heard the CADlights skimmers are efficient and quiet, any thoughts?

Im guessing its your water level but Im not positive. 4" is pretty low for most skimmers.

I would agree that it sounds like an issue with your water level. I know with my hob skimmer if I don't have the water level set right I will start getting noise from my skimmer.

yea if its new leave the wedge pipewide open and let it run. just take the cup off and let it overflow. raise thewater level to 7 inches. 4 is too low and puts added head on the pump.
