Non-Caulerpa Macroalgae Going Sexual

So I want to add some macro-algae to my tank.

After doing some reading I’ve found out the following:
- Macroalgae going sexual is rare
- You can minimize chances of it going sexual with light schedule and trimming
- It may not be as bad as you think if it does go sexual

My remaining questions are:
- Has anyone had a non caulerpa species go sexual?
- If so, does it pose a similar threat to the water quality as caulerpa?

I’ve read many posts asking similar questions and often the responses diverge from the question or some say any can do it but I really want to know if anyone has had a noncaulerpa go sexual and cause any issues with your tank/heard of it happening to anyone else.

Ulva goes sexual but I don’t think this species would be on your list. It seems the water quality worries are over blown. How much worse is it then dumping phyto into your system everyday?
