Hi,

Im trying to build a RO system and got some question regarding the non-return valve:

1) Do I need it for permeat only, or both permeat and concentrate, and why?

2) Is it okay to fully eliminate the non-return valve from the system?

Kind regards

Sorry but I don't know what a non-return valve is. Are you talking about a check valve?

If so, you'll want one on the permeate tube. It prevents flow of water backwards across the membrane. Backwards flow across the membrane layer of an RO element will damage the membrane.

For anyone with an ASOV... the ASOV won't function without a check valve on the permeate tube between the RO membrane permeate port and the low pressure port on the ASOV.

A check valve is not needed on the concentrate tube, although it won't hurt anything if you have one.

Yes. A lot of set ups will use a fitting with the check valve built in. If your membrane housing came with fittings it might be there.

Yes I know them but I need 1/4" thread to 1/4" quick connector. Do you know where I can buy this? All of them only have 1/8" thread
