Curious people's thought and practices on potentially having a non-wifi backup doser ready to go in the event of an extended internet or hardware outage. I travel a lot and am trying to rig my system with as much redundancy as possible. I currently run neptune DOS wifi dosers which default to OFF if connection is lost. By my calculation I have a window of about 1 day at the most before things would start to go south quick (my tank uses about 1.2 dkh of alk per day and is set to 7.8 dkh). I don't like the idea of relying on a non-reefer friend to try and manage a manual dosing schedule if something went south while I was away (I run a 4 part Triton dose schedule that is quite large and needs spread over multiple doses per day with gaps between solutions).
Thoughts on how some of you who travel a lot with large systems and a lot to lose manage this risk...
Or am I missing a feature by chance with these dosers that will maintain the current schedule instead of just OFF or ON in the event of network failure? That would be nice...
