Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone was running the NP K7 V3 with their "included" mount on an Aqueon tank? I can't really tell the sizing of the bracket itself that attaches to the tank will fit over the border of the tank. Needed something that wouldn't be $400+ for my 30gal tank.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think the 30 gallon does. Just tagging this one as I had never heard of the lights before and want to be able to bring them back up if needed. They look like an awesome light alternative for the money. Nice and sleek compared to my old black boxes and so much more affordable compared to radions etc.

If it is a rimmed tank I can say it will almost definitely not fit. I have 2 similar lights on brackets on my aqueon 60 breeder. I had to cut the rim to make it fit. Had to do the same on my 29g. So its certain the rim is too large on a 30g rimmed.

Hope my reply helps. The maximum installation range of the stand base is 3.9cm. About 1.57inch?

@nopenotpeter just fyi, this space is only about 0.5” in length. This is from the top of the fasteners to where the mount will sit. You’ll want to make sure your brace (or the lip of the brace if you have one), is shorter than this, otherwise you may struggle to mount.

Awesome thanks! I'll see more when it comes in and see what I may have to do. This may be a question for @noopsyche too, but as I've not worked with lighting like this in the past, would the mount go directly up against the glass or should I have a piece of cardboard or something in between so it doesn't scratch/chip the glass? Or is that an irrational fear?

Mine is screwed directly on the back pane of my IM 20. You’ll just have to be mindful of how much you tighten it. I haven’t had any issues.

If you want, I’m sure a flat piece of acrylic cut to size would work if you want to spread out the pressure. Don’t use cardboard or wood.
