Noob help needed

First time using this type of filter. Cannot for the life of me figure out how to get water flow in this tube so it works properly. Any help is appreciated

put a air tube in the siphon tube and suck the air out.

The way I used to do it is run a air line up through tube from the over flow side until it reaches the top of the arch then just suck the air out until the tube fills and water starts to flow

Stick a small airline tube up into the overflow tube from the sump side and suck.
You can google priming overflow box.

small air tube is best and also the most flexible.

Just be prepared to spit the water out of your mouth into something.

remove the u-tube and stick a small flex hose (like u would use for airstones)in the u-tube so that it is 1/2 in the curved part....make sure the hose is a good 3 feet long....stick the u-tube back in the overflow box.....suck out the air with your mouth until most of the air is gone.....pull the hose out of the u-tube without removing it from the overflow box

u should now have a full syphon

Thanks guys. Noob lesson learned! Now got a small leak to figure out but it's all good. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
