I bought my first frags today from an awesome dude that gave me a bunch of stuff for free. I'm not even sure this is a chalice but it's the closest looking I could find. I want to know where to put it in the tank. It has other soft corals growing from beneath it.

Chalice is called a sprungs stunner. Be careful it has very large tentacles and will kill corals around it.
Have fun with it!

Looks like Hollywood stunner chalices if it's green. If it's blue then Miami hurricane.

Typically chalices will be on the sandbed depending how strong your lights are.

Good looking piece.

Can't tell without the color but by looks I would say Hollywood stunner chalice with zoas under neath. They can take a lower light - but if it is a Hollywood - they have long sweepers and are mean to other corals sometimes so good distance can be helpful

Should I try attaching it to a rock buried in the sand bed or will it be Allright on its own?
