Ok so I have had my freshwater aquarium almost a year now wit great succes but after seeing vid's about reef tanks I just fell in love.

So I live on the Island of Aruba (Carribean) most of the stuff I use I order from Amazon and have to import it.

My question is , can I take live rock and sand from our beach and put it in a saltwater aquarium?
I am not taking coral since that is Illegal but rock's , sand , and even some fishes aren't.

I am aware that I can take maybe some bad bacteria with it but if I use medication maybe it will be allright?

Our beaches are rated with having one of the most beautifull sands in the world so that's why i am asking , it would also save me tons of money then having it shipped from Amazon.
To get a idea , this is 5 min from my house.

As long as it is legal, I don't see why not. Lots of the rock you would buy is taken from the ocean.
