Wondering why I didn’t ask this earlier. Should the water in the overflow chambers be at an equal level to the display?

They are supposed to be at varying levels in those chambers, for the filtration to work, right. For my tank the problem was with the return chamber. I actually couldn’t keep the water level up, until I realized, duh that I had to add water to the tank not the return chamber specifically….

If the water in the filtration chambers is at the same level as the DT, remove some water until the return chamber is a little lower than the baffles on either side of the chamber. That way there now will be water flow into that chamber.Yes

I’m asking this because I tried doing a water change and the pumps went dry after a gallon

The overflows are lower than the Dt so I think I’m good?

Were your pumps off during the water change or did they drain it after new salt water was added??

If you added the new saltwater back and the level in the DT is a little under the baffles to each side and not draining dry? Then you are good!!

Did not turn the pumps off and that compartment went dry and pumps started to pump air in

Yes, turn everything off!! Pumps, heater, power head, ATO. Lights stay on!
