I came across folks having issues with connecting their NP light via WiFi - I personally haven't had any issues until now, after I switched Internet providers, I got a new modem, and can't connect to WiFi even though there's the 2.4Ghz band.

I factory reset the light as well just to start fresh.

The new modem assigns IP in the 10.0.0.0 range, versus the old modem which uses 192.168.x.x IP

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I can't connect to the new 2.4Ghz WifI service - I don't know if it's because the App is expecting to use a 192 IP address.

Perhaps if anyone is reading this and has this light can confirm that their internal network IP class?

Could be the problem but you should be able to change the ip settings to confirm. In my experience a lot of wifi devices you just have to get the device as close to the modem as possible and try again and again until it works.

So did you re enter all info in the set up for your new qifi name and passwords also you will have to make sure the light is in lan mode and the light is in seatch mode for wifi to connect. Press and hold the r button until the unit starts blinking blue once blinking enter in your wifi name and password on the app and try to connect. Sometimes you have to delete the ip address in order to enter new name and password for the 2.4ghz channel.... it should connect at that point if it doesnt try connecting your phone to the 2.4 channel to make sure the channel is working let me know happy to help

Thanks for reaching out and trying to help. After a few hours, I determined that the light does not like to connect to the new router. Fortunately, I have the other router still in use, so I am able to switch back to that one. The good thing about this entire exercise is that I am not fully capable of configuring the light - ie. switch to AP mode, Factory Reset, or put in LAN mode, etc.....

I did this so many times that I can repeat and get consistent results. The new modem unfortunately is locked down from my Internet provider, so it's limited what I can change. I suspect it's related to the channel #..not sure. Anyhow, I have a WiFi extender spare and I set that up to connect with the new modem, and got the light to connect to the WiFi extender and it worked like a charm on WiFi.

In summary, I do not know why the light does not like the new modem/router.

Maybe this new router is a forced mesh meaning even though the channels can be seperated it forces to whatever signal is best at the time i will talk with noop and see what we can do about it no promises but maybe the next gen can be compatible to both channels. This would help all users no matter the router or internet service be able to use the wifi function.

Is your new modem a wireless gateway? Is the router set to assign IP's automatically via DHCP? You can also force your router to assign IP address to the light by statically entering it in the router interface.

I always struggled using wifi with mine. I'm not a networking person so it may be me. Now that they are set I haven't messed with them in months. When I was setting them up I ended up connecting via AP. I used an old cell phone I had laying around and connected it so it became a remote for the lights. I just found it easier than using my personal phone and having to remember to switch networks and would end up switching to AP anyway because I couldn't figure out how to connect via wifi.

I ended up doing the same. I used a old cracked ipad mini from my kids for the job but light still did not function like it should. The wifi chip was faulty. Noopsyche did send me 2 new wifi chips but i haven't touched it. I don't have a good soldering station to do it and honestly i don't even want to bother with it and put it away in my Reef stuff drawers.

Thanks! I really don't know. I assume that when I split the bands to 2 separate WiFi and 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, at the very least I expected to connect to the 2.4ghz Wifi network, but it won't, so I ended up installing the WiFi extender appliance to extend the 2.4Ghz network, and the Noopysche connected to that no issues.

It is yes - I tried entering a static IP address on the device, so that it'll stick, but it doesn't even get that far as the light will not connect "see" the Wifi network.
