Using NoPox to manage nitrate currently and phosphate has about bottomed out. I'm going now to pick up something to dose phosphate with. My question is does the standard dosing of either vary when dosing both? Nitrates are about 25 and phosphate is .03 at best.

I will follow along with this thread as i am doing the exact same thing right now. I am dosing Brightwell Neophos and also NOPOX

Neophos at 5ml into 139 gallons brings my phos up to 0.06 temporarily

Not understanding the question

Not sure if I should change the dose of phosphate to account for the reduction from NoPox.
If you known your daily phosphates consumption it would definitely be a good idea to dose according the demand.

Are you using any nutrient export methods other than NoPox? Although it is better at pulling nitrate NoPox is designed to pull out both nitrate and phosphate, so you’re likely pulling out phosphate and adding phosphate at the same time.

I’d recommend first trying a less chemical method of nutrient export. I won’t go into the detail here but there’s some good articles on R2R and elsewhere about possible adverse effects of long term usage of NoPox. Randy Holmes I know has some stuff on it. A Refugium would be a better method, and is much more efficient at pulling nitrate than phosphate so you’d likely solve your problem of the imbalance between the two.

also I’d question why it’s out of balance. They should for the most part track together. If they aren’t it means that increased nitrate is being added somehow, probably your particular food choice. The best feeding regime would be a balance of various types of foods and quantities can be adjusted to get your nutrients in balance.

in my case, I dose pellets daily on an auto feeder and a piece of LRS reef frenzy every other day. That keeps things balanced and I manage the specific levels via skimmer and fuge.

Not new to the game and know there are lots of ways for nutrient export. NoPox is the one that works best for me.
