I've been using Nopox for about 6-7 years and always dosed on the hour, 24 hours.
Lately I've been having issues with low pH and happened upon this article.
Having trilled the dosing schedule mentioned above, I can answer definitively that changing to a daylight dosing schedule for Nopox makes all the difference.
This first chart shows the past 7 days - you can see the big swings in ph - it's exaggerated due to the scale but you get the idea, it's getting up to 7.84 in the early evening but bottoming out at 7.64 in the early hours. The alerts are each time the Seneye despatched a low pH warning, dropping below 7.78. The last exclamation mark is 31st July where I changed the schedule.
Switching to dosing the same amount of Nopox in a 24 hour period but only between the hours of 6am to 9pm had an immediate effect, flattening the swings out almost entirely, raising the peak to 7.88 (so far - this is just the past day or so) but not dropping below 7.8. This is the past 24 hours.
No more alerts!
Additionally, although I'm using the same overall amount of Nopox (20ml/d), when I tested yesterday afternoon my nitrate was down to 20.5 from 25.3 tested at the weekend - I've made no other changes. Obviously this could just be due the higher concentration dosed during the day but I don't imagine nitrate swings up and down like pH day/night?
So, the question this prompts is, is Nopox more effective dosed in larger individual doses or am I just seeing a daytime drop in nitrate because that's when I'm dosing? Will have to test either at night or early morning to see.
