Hi all, I would like to kill off GHA and am contemplating using Nopox. My understanding is that it will reduce no3 and po4 levels.

I do however worry about using it causing Cyanobacteria and dinos when po4 levels are depleted too fast.

I am thinking about buying but have not seen many positive reviews where algae actually disappears from a tank.

Also worried what it could do to my corals as I have loads of Ricordea Florida, lps and very few

Run AI prime with no red or green and white at 10%.
All tested this morning 12/04/2020
SG is low at 1.022 but brining it up slowly over the next week or so.
Alk 9.6dKh Target 9
Cal 415 ppm Target 420-450
Mg 1390 ppm (bit high) Target 1280-1350
No3 0-2 ppm
Po4 zero

all tested with salifert kits. As I have algae these no3 and po4 are not accurate.

or

I know it’s not the solution long term.

I vote nay due to your current parameters, NOPOX is something that you have to be committed to long term. NOPOX got me in trouble with dinos then cyano fast before

Carbon dosing works, however with your nitrate and phos levels it will not help you.

How old is the tank? It doesnt look like your algae is too bad. Adding herbivores and letting the tank mature seem like logical steps

Hi, it was setup on 28 December 2019, 3 and a half months.

the GHA is not so bad and I have just beaten off cyano so I am very happy about that.

thanks for the solid advice. With lockdown I cannot get any stock but will definitely look into some herbivores.
