I have several fish that eat nori some are new to the tank. I glued my clamp to my magnet cleaner. The question is what’s best way to put it in without them making a mess out of it. When I add it they eat at it but they rip it in half and most the time big hunks go into my wave maker

You can either fold it in half and cut small strips so they just rip that or, my preference, is to buy the below.
Two Little Fishies Pouch Feeder

I use sheets of nori that are about 4"x4". I put several together, fold them in half, and cut along the fold. this leaves me with 2"x4" sheets. I stack them together, uniformly and then fold them in half, again, leaving a 2"x2" square. I add them to my magnetized nori clip by putting the folded ends in the clip. Finally, using scissors, I cut the folded sheets into thirds with two, evenly-spaced cuts. The cuts are from the bottom, open side going towards the folded, clipped side of the sheets.

What I end up with is many smaller strips of nori that my Tangs rip off, one at a time. Just like you, big pieces of nori get stuck in power heads or the overflow. The smaller strips occasionally go through a powerhead (producing a burst of nori fragments that the fish chase all around), but they don't get stuck too often.

I just fold the sheet multiple times and then make sure the clip jaws are pushed into the dry nori. Sometimes my fish will pull it out, but that’s pretty rare.

I find cutting one end in many small strips is the best method. This way they only pull away one strip at a time.

Fold over a bit of gutter guard, fill with a well folded sheet, and stick in clip.

Put 4 half sheets together roll it up and put it in the magnetic clip works great.

Fold a half sheet multiple times until it’s about 2 in. long and use a rubber band to attach to a 1” elbow

How long can you leave a sheet of nori in before it needs changing? Daily?
Also, does nori pollute the water? Such as adding any nitrates or phosphates?

Organic compounds will always add nitrates and phoshpates. I feed a half sheet for a 5” purple tang a day (have a 3” blue as well but he doesn’t like to eat off the clip) and she devours it within 4 hours.
